AI wildcard squad for the rest of the season
Our AI has analysed every player's form, fixtures, expected goals, clean sheet probability and ownership to build the optimal wildcard team for GW35 through to GW38. Tap any player to see full stats and remaining fixtures.
FA Cup caveat: No blanks or doubles are currently scheduled for GW32-38, but FA Cup quarter-final results in early April will create them. We will publish an updated version after those games. Save your Free Hit and Bench Boost until the picture is clearer.

The Haaland question
Haaland's form of 1.3 looks terrible. So why is he in? Three reasons:
- 197 total points — still the highest-scoring player in FPL despite the dip.
- xGI/90 of 0.86 — the best in the league. The underlying numbers say the goals are coming.
- Fixtures improve GW34+ — BUR(A), EVE(A), BRE(H), BOU(A) are all FDR 2-3. The hard fixtures (CHE, ARS) are front-loaded.
- 54.9% ownership — this is the killer argument. If Haaland hauls and you do not own him, your rank takes a massive hit. At this ownership level, he is as much a defensive pick as an attacking one.
If you want to go without him, the £14.5m buys you Thiago (£7.3m) + Saka (£9.8m) instead. That is a valid alternative, especially if you want to spread the risk.
Chip strategy for the run-in
Triple Captain
Target a confirmed DGW, or use on Bruno Fernandes at home. GW35-37 most likely to produce doubles after FA Cup rescheduling.
Bench Boost
Save for a DGW where your whole bench has fixtures. This squad has a strong bench (Garner 139pts, Kelleher 114pts) so the ceiling is high.
Free Hit
Save for the blank GW that FA Cup will create. Load up on players from teams with fixtures that week.
