The Haaland question

Haaland's form of 1.3 looks terrible. So why is he in? Three reasons:

197 total points — still the highest-scoring player in FPL despite the dip.
xGI/90 of 0.86 — the best in the league. The underlying numbers say the goals are coming.
Fixtures improve GW34+ — BUR(A), EVE(A), BRE(H), BOU(A) are all FDR 2-3. The hard fixtures (CHE, ARS) are front-loaded.
54.9% ownership — this is the killer argument. If Haaland hauls and you do not own him, your rank takes a massive hit. At this ownership level, he is as much a defensive pick as an attacking one.

If you want to go without him, the £14.5m buys you Thiago (£7.3m) + Saka (£9.8m) instead. That is a valid alternative, especially if you want to spread the risk.
